AUF DEN SPUREN VON
An exploration of european migration stories
Frl. Wunder AG has travelled across Europe on their quest to discover their families‘ stories. They‘ve talked to long lost relatives, name researchers and historians. Rummaged through archives and attics. They‘ve collected letters, photos, and memorabilia. The goal is to comprehend the own family‘s migration movement: Who departed when and to where? Most importantly: why? The performers and audience members recap on the collected stories and experiences- they tell of emigrants and immigrants, secret affairs and early patchwork families, Spanish jews and protestant huguenots, strokes of luck, fights for survival and the dream of a better life. The journey leads through the Hunsrück, Austrian mines, to Bessarabia, Transylvania, over coffee plantains all the way to Brazil.
